Life and Health

What is your life goal?

I recently read a book called "Outlive." I am a medical professional who feels the same way as the author. Western medicine has been changed and developed to save lives so that people live longer, even with serious medical conditions. But why not try to be healthy when you are not ill? Or how about augmenting healthy conditions? The author (Dr. Peter Attia) explained the sustainable change for chronic conditions and preventable tips. The most important takeaway for me is to take care of the whole person; Sometimes, we should consider quality more than quantity of life and prevent further worsening of age-related changes.

  1. Enjoyable exercises adding muscle strengthening at least 2~3 times a week

  2. Enjoyable diet; variety and portion control, especially if you want to lose weight.

  3. An enjoyable relationship is essential for emotional health; spending time with someone is time well spent.

  4. Sleep, sleep, and more sleep for physical and mental health.

Now, change does not come easily, most of the time, because we love to be comfortable. If I may, I would suggest getting comfortable, not being comfortable, if that makes sense to you.
